You should go about half way down the page and check with your countryman Rolf in Victoria. He has his combine modified for the conditions he has which are probably more like yours than the corn and bean harvesters have here in the US.

G'Day Pengs5 I'd go with the channels helical and look at one of the latter concave if you need to replace that! were coming to the conclusion that we need to have the rotor rasp bars as close as we can to the the cage (just missing the helical!!!!) and so were look at shimming out the full length of our rotor! In small grains is a good idea to close up the front of the concave to at lest 3 mm when top back check bar is touching highest rasp bar, the add filler bars to get the thrash you need! (if you can get it threshed right sorting and cleaning come much easier!!!) Im not familiar with a N5 but I would think the principles would be the sameIJ!IJ!IJ!IJ Hharvesting lentils at the moment that were frosted and then heat treated in late October (37C). 1.5 tonne _Hectare up to 8 km_hr still have a 3 ton_Ha MOG but not many lentils, oh and this is with 240 rotor revs too, and concave closed down to 4 to 5 mm and four filler bars installed. Thanks Rolf. I'll be in touch . Yeah N5 same but had cage covered in more ,no over feed auger less HP no bin extensions smaller rear axle (which snap off ). . Finished wheat yesterday Avg 10 bags_acre ,heat treatment and frost also.

I'm with Rolf on channel helicals. The Gleaner channel kit for P1s and the loewen dual pitch kit will extend helicals into discharge. I'm unsure what you see in hyper mod section but you could be right on both accounts. When we stacked flat iron helicals we also added a helical kit that provided helicals that are not in there on thresher side and three helicals that hooked up the steeper angle on thresher side to the shallower angle of seperator side. The dual pitch loewen kit does that with channel helicals. The other channel kits that are available maintain same angle all the way threw cage and are harder to put in. Any of them systems will work alot better in the tough going than you are used to. The cheapest way to go further with cylinder is adding the paddles unless you are replacing a bunch of cylinder bars. I'm unsure what the hi-low bar setup would do for you, I think the biggest benifit there is for the corn boys. Extending cylinder bars into discharge on your rotor may be quite a project for you for the benifit you get. Helical bars are the main thing we did to get these things to go. If you have discharge beater in place of chopper you may want to figure a way to install knotched blades like the newer machines have in place of the rolled back blades you may have know. Thanks Dan _Rolf Will be doing channel helicals by the sound of it.I like the sound of helicals into discharge. Rolf's logic on cylinder bar hugging helicals all the way along make's sense to me so i probaly wont worry about P3 stars to do high low. Will add extra paddle's and i do bale straw behind so no chopper and will try and put in knotched later model blades thanks for that one. Its all sounding good i'm getting excited . My paddle rubber has just about worn through they were nearly ready to fling out of there. Thanks again and have a great xmas .
