I don't know anything about "covers" but to time the paddles have one set vertical and the other horizontal.........I can't remember exactly..My dad is the Massey Guru of the Family but isn't there 3 sets of them in that feederhouseIJ At any rate one straight up and down and the next one set flat and then put the chains on....All there is to it. Now, like I said....I'm not the family expert on these girls but that's the way I remember pop doing it and he's never had any trouble. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong Take care.....Deerebines

Deerebines is right, 1 straight up and the next flat, dont worry about the top paddle before the feed roller as it turns faster, rest assured ,you will find out fairly smartly if they are out of time, will have a look in the parts book for a reference for covers, what model are you referring to IJIJIJIJ

For our conditions (Aust.) we found that if you set it up like deerebines said then on the first paddle advance the paddle one tooth on the chain cog it will feed better as the first paddle will be releasing the crop as the second one grabs it. The paddle covers boxed the shaft in and again in our conditions that helped feeding a lot. On the later masseys the option was there to put four rubbers on the first paddle but for us it seemed to just thresh the grain out of the heads. john
