Combines Tips for Boosting performance on a FIJ

Find Ray Stueckle's books "Combine Settings for better harvesting" and "Dear Ray, this is my problem". These books were in the 70's and the best source of information on older models. Go through the books and your combine thoroughly, don't overlook anything that may seem minor. Also go through your operators manual very thoroughly. Sometimes the little things can make a big difference.

Speaking of Ray Stueckle's book - I happen to have his book "Dear Ray, This Is My Problem". I'd be willing to sell it for $12.00 shipping included to the first guy who contacts me about it. It was written in the early 80's and includeds a big chapter on Gleaner conventionals as some on the N Series. We don't have any of the models he talks about anymore so I don't really need it.
