Our combines have completely been updated to 2004 specs. The ECM's hardware and software have both been changed and we found out the details of the resistor trick by way of our dealer. The dealership brought out one of their 2004 models and we went side by side in the same crop conditions. We were the same at the begining of the day. We added the resistor, the guage said 40 lbs. We then lined up side by side again and noticed absolutely no gain. The resistor only fools the reading and provids no benefit. Today we had a little extra time after some rain and modified one combines air intake system. This will be tested next day that we can go, hopefully tomorrow. Also durring the demo a diagnostic computer was hooked up to the combines. This has been done before but for some reason they had never checked the amount of fuel that the injection system delivered. Both of our combines as well as the dealerships 2004 delivered %20 less fuel than they are suposed to. We have yet to find the solution to this but it feels nice to finally have our complaining recognized as an actual problem. Durring the entire demo, 3 CR970 combines in the field with a 9650 JD, the JD experienced less trouble and harvested the exact same amount as any of the 970's. I could never recomend anybody to buy this product at this point. If our combines were prototypes and 3 years away from production I might be happy. The support is non-existant and owning this product after waranty would be financial suicide.
