You must be talking about the corn strippers in front feed. There seems to be at least one machine per year that shows up in our area with them in. I remember when factory had us weld them in. What a mistake and heck of a job to cut out. That grinding noise he is hearing must be the crop droping in hopper. In some crops or conditions it can make quite a racket. Take care
