Combines To reverse or not to reverse

Might try this, remove the separator grate to the left of the thresher grate. About 6 bolts on top and bottom. loosen the top bolts and then run up the jam nuts to allow the attaching bolts to just drop through the separator cage frame. Then take out the bottom bolts, pull out the top, hold the angle (and remember to put it back) and slide upwards and out. Remove every other helical on the grate you just removed and install a couple of your rasp bars crossways (horizontal or parallel to the cylinder bars) in between the helicals remaining. Tools required are a combo 3_4 box open end wrench and a 3_4" deepwell 1_2 or 3_8 drive socket for the grate removal and a 9_16 for the helicals . This will take 15 minutes, unless you drop nuts and washers like someone I know. Some even run this in beans and report no hp requirements as with the reverse bars.

I already had that cage section out, I was contemplating placing more rasps toward the edge of the grate just before it started up the cage. Shouldn't be a problem to put them in like you said. Is the placement between the helicals more effective or just easier to doIJ Just curious. Thanks for the help.
