We dont get enough rain to make mud!! If it does happen to get muddy while were cutting milo we will wait until it freezes the ground at night and then cut at night.Wheat harvest is normally dry,

our headers are washed inside and out end season greased all metal parts treated out side waxed and i can't really say we have had a bearing failure due to water but the baby sure sparkles...and we have no problems with rats we remove all the sieves and get in and give her a good going over inside gives a chance to see what needs doing in the off season...a truck wash cleaner low pressure is magic for cleaning the panel work..i find the air just blows dust all over the place including the operater and the mud well some times that is just get in with the hands and dig it out

We wash at the end of every year before winter. After washing we grease the heck out of everything to push the moisture out and run the machine a couple of minutes to ensure the new grease is throughout the bearing.

every year when we put out combine away we get a high power air compressurs like the ones that the road guys use for jack hammers. we open all the doors take out the seive take of the headand blow it out. our combine DOES NOT get wet. it is a 78 4400 and it is the best one around. if there is some mud on it we usally clean it off before it drys too hard. it is a really good combine and i hope it keeps it up
