Combines Top sieve bracking

We've had the same trouble. Once it breaks it is very hard to hold again, no matter how much metal you weld on it. Finally bought a new sieve from loewen mfg. Does any body know what causes this or is there a update kit to prevent itIJ Thanks, Greg

check all bushings on shaker arms, bearings on pitman arms, where pitman bearings are on shaft behind big pully make sure shaft isn't worn,if bushings haven't been changed a good idea would be to change them an time the shakers so they are being sent back an forth evenly,case tech should have the timing tool

loewen also makes heavier stronger shoe frame rails that the chaffers and sieves fit into, as likely you are getting flexing and cracking in them alsoIJ

We had ours crack a few years ago and as already stated change all your bushes and when you tighten the bolts make sure the sieve is in mid stroke. We welded ours and reinforced it on the outside where there is room and put a small plate on the inside, it has been no problem since. I had loewen email me about this from an old post, I sent them some pics of where mine broke, I would think theirs are pretty heavy in that area. But as said it will weld ok!

Your problem is internal contact. The chaffer rail front corners hit the housing on the forward stroke and the sides of the chaffer rails hit the corners of the auger bed on the back stroke. The shoe hits the tailings auger cover on the forward stroke and the rear frame assembly on the back stroke. THE SIEVE HAS STOP BRACKING. REPlACE PITMAN ARM BEARING AND SHAFT WHICH HAD lITTlE BIT OF WEAR AND WHIlE IT WAS APART REPlACE THE BUSHERS. GONE A WEEK WITHOUT BRACKING. MUST HAVE FIX THE PROBlEM WHICH IS A SURPRISE TO ME CONCIDERING THE AMOUNT OF WEAR.

loewen has double tubed theirs instead of using a single tube. I would think that would make a huge difference!
