Combines Toy 4400

I have seen some toy 6600s before. Most of them are pretty beat up but the ones that are in good condition go for top dollar. I'm not sure on an exact price because I haven't seen one for a while but if I had to guess I would say $50 to $150 or more depending on condition. I don't believe they ever made a toy 4400, but I could be mistaken. Proto

The 6600 was the one that was made. I have one thats in good shape I gave $100 for. They can be as much as $150 for a fully restored one. There are different versions too. The early one like mine, has a chain from the drive axle to the auger and a chain from the auger to the reel,the reel is metal.The later one has a chain from the axle to the auger but the reel to auger drive is plastic gears. I think on this version has a plastic reel. Steve J

The only one that Ertl ever made was the 6600, but I have seen a 6600 that a friend of mine who collects toys had customized to look like a 4420. He had painted the cab black, and had put a header with the black reel from an Ertl 6620 on it. He also had decals for it as well. I still have a toy 6600 that I got as a present for my fourth birthday 25 years ago. The toy is in excellent condition, except that the yellow plastic cab roof has started to discolor slightly from age. The one I have has the lug rear tires to look like power rear wheel drive. If you can find one in excellent condition they usually go for upwards of $150, but I saw one on Ebay that was still in the original square "ice cream box" sell for $250 a couple of years ago. If any you have any of these old toys lying around, some of them are very valuable.

Speaking of toys, I got a 9610 STS 1_64 scale ERTl combine for christmas this year, now those of us that know better, know that JD never made a 9610 STS. This is obviously a misprint. Does anybody know if this is worth anymore, or did ERTl do this to a large amount of boxes that were soldIJIJIJ Thanks kinetic

Just remember that the scale is 1_20th or something like that. Understand the cost issues, but it never seemed right as a kid. I liked the size of the 1_16th scale Case that Scale Models made a couple of years ago, but the detail was really poor.

I also have one of these 9610STS combines. I dont think there are many of them out in the world today. I kept mine in the box and put it away where I will forget about it for 20 years. Then, what a surprise that will be when I find it!

The box misprint will add some value. Ertl has goofed on a few items over the years. It adds about $10 over the correct version. The light green 8850 sells for $25-$30 where the regular model is $15-$20. I would like to find a 9610 STS box. Jay

look for a 1_16 JD 45 with a 2 row corn head from Ertl later this year.

A few of the 9750 STS Precision boxes said 1_16th scale when it is really 1_32. This might add a little value too.
