if you are talkin about the front ribbed grain pan , ours , in a conventional combine builds up also. with moisture and barley dust and then cakes. after a few seasons with new galvanized front grain material, it rusts thru. we are testing our first combine with a plastic ribbed front grain pan. it's easy to watch as it's white and if there is a buildup, we scrap it loose with a homemade toothpick 11' long and a hook on the end. because this was a new idea, we put a second floor under the ribbed one, but the second floor has come apart so we'll need to rework that idea. we used 1_2" puckboard to make the front grain pan.
