The Tr98 has the updaded cleaning fan Sheives, a little more horsepower, and some of the newer ones have the updated bubble up auger. Not too sure about the production years.

The TR98 also has the electric engagements for the unload auger, thresher, and feeder house. The early TR97 combines had the n60 drive chains on the feeder house instead of the n80 chains like the late TR97 and all TR98's. Early TR97's had the Ford engine, the later ones and the TR98's had the NH Genesis engine = better fuel economy and more power. 2 different choppers on the early to late 97's. The bubble up and cleaning fan sheave updates were good improvements - they can be done to the TR97's as well. Gray colored interior in the TR98 - TR97 was brown. Basically the same combine at the end of the day - the rotors, concaves, etc. are all the same - good machines.

I will add that the TR 97 was made from 1994-96 and TR 98 1996-1998. Had both in my lifetime. Both good but improvements on the 98 made it a little better. Ilnh
