If the roller plugs it usually means that the straw is tough just take the bottom scraper out.

Thanks for the info Trking.We tried that and what was happening then it would turn the straw backwards underneath and leave globs of straw all over the field I agree when the straw is tough it is worst living in manitoba canada we have to put up with these conditions cause we get very few days that are ideal condition.

Are the hammers on your chopper rounded on the end as this will cause the straw to slide off instead of being pulled through the chopper.
