Combines TR 99 cracked engine oil pipe

I'm not sure, but there may be an update on the oil lineIJ I know that it is quite a job to change. I had your problem on my 2000 TR-99 but not so far on my present 2001. I don't know what causes the reel to go backward. All of mine have done that.

every time I have seen that steel pipe crack, it is caused by a broken muffler and or muffler bracket. When the muffler bracket breaks, there is enough vibration to eventually cracke that line. When the reel drive system is set to the auto mode and first engaged, it will be looking for a signal from the transmission speed sensor before the reel will properly react. This may be where the delay is partially coming from. As mentioned, it is quite common. Does the reel speed become erratic during normal operationIJ Do you have a chaff spreader hooked up in the reel drive hyd. systemIJ

you are right,that muffler bracket is the cause. I forgot about that. That's where the update is also.

Thanks guys and yes it does look like it has had a new exhaust muffler bracket fitted before we got the TR and one bolt was missing on the exhaust bracket down on the fly wheel housing. Yes it does have a chaff spreader hocked in the reel line but the reel works just fine during operation.
