Combines TR 99 Engine lope

Governor surging at lower RPM's were common to many 7.5l engines with Bosche inline pumps. For the most part if it was on a combine and only occured like at 1500 rpm and below NH did not suggest doing anything about it. If it occurs at high rpm's such as operating speeds then the pump needs repair. It also occured on alot of 70 series tractors. The problem is that how good it runs when you get the pump back is totally dependant on the injection repair shop the pump was taken to. A rep from one business from Mich said that Bosche had 3 or 4 updates for those pumps. I know there was a governor spring change, and there was a piston and bore sleeve replacement. Some pumps sent to Diesel Fuel Injection Service in St. louis, MO have come back somewhat better but not cured. They are also a Bosche distributor but I would avoid them if I were you. I can't think of what the place in Michigan's name was but several NH reps started suggesting to dealers that they should send pump to them.

The problem is it has been doing this since NEW. It doesn't do it at low or high idle, but as soon as you bring it off low idle it starts. The reason I asked here because the only why I got my bubble auger problem solved was to show the dealer all the other posts from guys with the same problem, up untill then they told me there wasn't a problem. But after showing them all the posts they magiclly came up with a recall and replaced the entire bubble auger. With this engine lope the only thing they keep telling me is that the idle settings are not correct or the pump is worn out, yet they even say that it shouldn't be becasuse of the low hours and the fact that it has done this since new. There are some injector pump repair shops a round here, I will have to give one of them a call. Thanks

As mentioned, VERY common with these Bosch pumps on the 7.5l NH engines. When I worked for CASE, we had the exact same issue with the Magnum tractors - because they used basically the same pump on the 8.3l Cummins engines. For that dealer to try to tell you what he has - he either hasn't had much experience with the equipment or he simply doesn't care about his customers.
