The TR would walk all over the 9600

Yup, we had an old TR-85 and demo'd a new 9500 back around 94' somewhere around there, and the NH held its own with that machine. A TR-96 or anything up would stomp a 9600.

Drive faster! Welcome to rotary world. You can expect better grain quality, cleaner grain, lower losses and more capacity. The TR will impress you to no end over a 9600. like any combine, check belts, chains, floor thicknesses, augers, look for leaks, and give concaves a look. They're not cheap and you want don't want one with rounded bars, that is unless it's NH's round bar concave for corn. In small grains, be careful to not run rotors too fast, as the TR can over-separate and overload shoe in dry straw if rotor speed is too fast. Agitator pins can be removed if necessary, those are the knob-like hex-headed pins threaded into mounts on the rotor. You'll enjoy the TR. Good luck.

Very good post Harvester, and I may add that don't let people tell you that when the sun goes down that you can't combine. We demoed a JD 9600 some years back against our TR95 in wheat. When it got dark I had to park the 9600 and finish up with my TR95. You couldn't get the wheat to go with the JD, without putting a lot back on the ground. After the first rain after harvest you could see where the JD cut by all the wheat that greened up in the field. I know some of you will say that I didn't know how to set it, but the dealer that let me try it was a farmer also and had green all his life. I would think he knew how to set itIJ A rotor combine has to be kept full and it will do a great job and most times by the time it's dark you don't need to be out combineing anyway, as you did enough already. B.S. We have cut wheat many times from 2:00 to 3:00 in the morning and we dont have that problem.And the reason we cut so late is because the longer you cut that is that much more in the bin and not waiting on that hailstorm that will be there in 2 days. Also can you dump on the go with those bad augers on the New HollandsIJ A local custom cutter leased a Tr 98 with a 30 ft header and could not dump on the go with it because it was to short!

Sir, I have hail insurance and yes you can unload on the go with a 30' head if you have the long unloading auger.

lOl I have hail insurance also. But would you rather cut wheat on a good year that is making 50bpa dryland or collect insurance and your average is 30 bpaIJ

Here in SWIl hail don't get our wheat to often. We raise 65-90bpa wheat most years and do cut it as fast as we can because we have to d'crop soybeans in it, and everyday that they are not planted you lose bu. We all run hard, just trying to make the point that you can with a New Holland also. Any new combine can do a good job nowdays if it is set right, I just think that a New Holland is more forgiving in finding that "sweet spot" as conditions change. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Ilnh

I bet the New Holland will cut i never said it wouldnt cut i just said the augers sucked on them. Here the wheat is doing good at 50bpa dryland and average about 40bpa is really decent but alot of years we cut some around 25bpa.

BG, The new CR's have fixed that now, with the new unloading system. We have always dumped on the go with our TR's into grain carts, I have never had any problems with the old style unload auger. And we have some rolling land here in SWIl. I think the problem was that some people would look at the TR auger system and say that it couldn't work as good as JD or CIH before they would even try itIJ like I said if you have the long unload auger, it is no problem to unload on the go. Just remember that longer is better! Ilnh
