Combines TR vs CR unloading rate

You have asked all the right questions. I am dissappointed in the the TR unloading rate too.The only thing I can figure is the double U-joint at the base of the unloading tube has part of the flighting cut out to accommodate the u-joints. I know that speeding up the auger doesn't seem to help. The TR-99 has a 18 tooth drive sprocket and the older ones have a 16 tooth. We tried up to a 22 tooth sprocket but it was no help. I always liked the TR system, but I guess I like the CR system better. After I got used to it. The CR auger is very high and sometimes on a windy day you have to swing the auger part way back so it gets lower.It's interesting that since NH came out with 3 bu. _ sec. JD upped their output to 3.3.

Hello NHDon I thought about taking that little connecting Auger right out and extending the other two augers towards each other (it does not appear to be a big job to modify that swivel cone and closing it in better so the grain has to go from the bin auger to the outside auger). I was going to use a hyd motor to run the Auger. I probably would have to add another pump somewhere to drive the unloading auger and this pump could drive a bubble up auger in the grain tank as well. The Bubble up Auger only lasted about 300hours and needs to be updated or changed again. The hyd drive would take a lot of stress off the two unloading drive sprockets. I put 2 new sprockets on before harvest and after about 300 sep hours they are done (I unload 95% of the time on the go which is obviously harder on the drives). Thanks Peter

Dont forget that the CR has two cross augers to deliver the grain to the unloading auger, this has some bearing as to the speed that the CR unloads at. regards, mick
