Combines tr98 starting problem

Someplace the fuel is draining back to the tank. Did you check all fittingsIJ Could be small hairline crack somewhere. Had a AC 7045 tractor like that. Found it by pumping the primer pump up (tractor not running) till fuel seeped out of a steel line. Maybe you could pressureize(sp) the fuel lines someplace to find leak. Good luck!

The solenoid that turns on the fuel may not be pulling the fuel valve all the way open. try turning the key on and have someone manually check it.

Our TR 98 does the same, but only after sitting for more than 3-4 months. I always use the hand primer first. It helps to have someone start the combine and you stay in the back and continue to use the primer pump. Our TR 96 did this as well. Good luck!

It could be 1 of 3 things.Worn or split plastic fuel line(i.e.between tank and filter),faulty one way valve in filter housing or faulty one way valve in lift pump.

We have same problems. Just pump it and crack a line. 5 Minute pain in the neck is all it is

Fairly common prblem with the TX but not so much with TR's. It seems that the checkvalve in the return line to tank doesn't hold and allows the pump to bleed dry, hence the need to prime it. NH has another checkvalve to install on the return line. Should be in NH service bulletins with partn etc. Have put some on the TX's and seems to work

Our TR89 did the same thing. It was a small hole in the fuel line under the rear deck. Take the line off on both ends, plug one end, and see if it will hold suction when you suck on it.
