I guess it comes down to money. If you can trade for the lower hr machine and get low or no interest financing it may be ok, but in a year or two when the CR's get into the used market you are really going to have to come up with some serious boot.Does a TR-89 have a wider clean grain elevator than a TR-88IJ Thats a big factor in corn.Maybe you can trade for under $40 per sep. hr.IJ

Yes thats what it will come down to is money, but it always does. I was kind of thinking about that $40 per sep. hr. also. Trading to a new CR is not a option for me at this time. I most likely will never buy a new combine, so I look for a few year's old one. It will be a some time before any CR's work there way into the used combine market and I'm not sure I what to keep my TR98 that long. As for as I can tell a TR89 is a updated TR98 and the TR99 had more inprovements done on them. The wider clean grain elevator was only on the TR99, TR89 was the same as my TR98. I have never raised good enough corn here to tax the system. I was hoping that a lot of one year old TR99's was going to be traded on CR's this year, but I don't see that happening yet. Does anybody know how many CR's have been soldIJ All they tell me is that all production for this year is sold, but don't tell me how many numbers that is. It looks like to me that when ever you go from a TR to the CR it is going to cost some serious bootIJ Ilnh

I understand that NH is geared up to build 475 CR's. They say that if all of those are sold they will have a 12% market share up from something like 3%.I do know that my friend in Ne.bought his combine in late Dec. and it is being built in mid April. I guess they think that around 4000 new combines will be sold this year.

I forgot about the vertical hyd driven auger in the grain tank. It was made by maurer and it was an option with their bin extensions. We found that very helpfull. We had one all of our 97's and 98's. It saved the gear box nd helped te bubble auger a lot. We had no gear box failures after that. Does the TR-89 have the 99's style bubble-upIJ

Don, I have not seen the TR89 yet, but I think the dealer told me that the bubble up auger was only changed on the 99's. I think the 89 is like my 98 is. I also know the 89 did not have the electric concave adjustment. Did that work good on your TR99IJ My 98 is sometimes hard to get back up after I do corn and have had it droped down all the way. Takes two of us to get it back up, one outside with a bar to help it up. I think there is some other small things that a 99 has that the 89 don't. Ilnh
