Combines track challengers

The large frame 65 - 95s have been replaced by the new 800 series. The row crop 35 - 55s have been replaced by the new 700 series. AGCO bought the design and production facilities from CAT but most of the CAT dealers are still the only place that you can buy a new one. In a business move that still astounds me, AGCO decided to reward their faithful dealers by allowing Cat dealers to sell track machines, some repainted Massey combines, and the complete line of AGCO wheel tractors. As far as I can see the AGCO dealers got NOTHING from the deal. Go figureIJIJ

You will find NOTHING about anything ag related on CAT's site. Unbelievable! The new Challenger track tractors are labeled "Challenger," not CAT, and if you look at a lexion combine ad, it mentions Claas Omaha and lexion brand, but nothing about CAT other than their dealers are the ones that service them.

Try this link. I've seen videos of the new Gen 3 series in action and the ride looks like it will really be improved. Actually most things look much more refined than the 1st and 2nd gen.

When the combine plant in Omaha first opened there were Cat signs all over it. last several times I've been by it there were Claas signs on it. I even saw a Claas forage harvester parked in front the other day.

That's because Cat no longer owns the plant, Claas does. But, the Cat lexion (yellow and black, with the big CAT logo on the side) is still made there, no change, still sold by the Cat dealers, no change.
