Combines Tracker trouble

The centering only works when the feeder housing is raised far enough to trip the microswitch on the lH side of the feeder just ahead of the rocktrap. The microswitch turns the header sensors off and centers the feeder using the faceplate sensor on the combine. Make sure the wire trip arm is under the rocktrap body and not on top. The switch_trip position can be adjusted if you have to raise the feeder too high. Early microswitches (1600-2100's)were an open design and foreign material would prevent the switch from operating correctly, blowing off with conpressed air usually works, you need to hear the familiar "click" when you move the wire arm downward. later models (2300) have a sealed unit with a rubber boot.

OK, Then the field tracker sensors were likely not installed properly and calibrated. You said that the tracker functions properly when in operation (harvesting). The sensor on the side of the head that drops may require the linkage lengthened. If you adjust too far the header will not work right when cutting. Sounds like the harness should also be pulled out of the frame tube and make sure that some rodent hasn't had lunch on the wires. good luck.

Check the potentiometer on the left side of feederhouse near the near the front. The linkage can be adjusted to level the header.

Are you sure there is no wiring problem. My header was in storage did wheat and hooked up to do beans and did the same thing. Dealer came and pulled harness out of the header frame and mice had chewed through the harness. No visible damage to harness outside the tube though. Before you pull harness out of the tube tie baler twine to the end of harness so you can pull back into the frame tube when done inspection_repair. If this doesn't solve your problem then next check linkage and sensors on either side of header. Good luck
