try loosening off your gathering chains just alittle bit which will let them jump around a little bit and help bring the stalks to the auger.

Try taking a welder and making tack welds on the auger flighting. A small portable wire welder works just fine. Start in the middle and work your way out four feet or so. The aurger is to slick and will not grab the stalks to force them into the feeder house. I have also used cloth type duct tape, putting it anywhere it will stick. A large spoke reel might help kick it onto the auger. We bought a reel at a farm sale, but never put it on. Also, we have started earlier in the morning while there is more humidity and serviced the equipment in the heat of the day. Good luck.

If you have the rubber ear saver flaps bolted to the rear corners of the row dividers, try taking them off so stalks will slide past and into the header. Hope this helps

Simple solution.... they use them in West Texas all the time. Build yourself corn reel. Mount a piece of pipe on 2 pillow block bearing above the head. Weld 4 or 5 stub shafts like the spoke of a wheel above every snout. Clamp some radiator hose onto the stub shafts that will wipe the snouts clean and push material into the auger. You will have to drive it with a hydraulic motor, and may be able to use the same control for a grain reel. Position the reel more towards the rear of the head. I had a friend build one is about 3 hours.

My neighbor mounted a leaf blower above every snout to keep it clean

Is this the same neighbor that combined his oats one time and then raked then into windrows and combined them againIJ
