Kurt, A couple of more things to try. First,get a couple of pieces of angle iron(1"x1"x1_8"),approx. length of 24". Weld these to the auger in the center 180 degrees from each other.You would be surprised how well this keeps the trash being grabbed and forced under auger.Another item to try is adding some small flat iron pieces(1_8"x1"x1"),stand them on edge of flighting in the center and weld to flighting,spacing them on about every foot.This will also help grab trash that wants build.Keep these items within the throat area to minimize ear shelling. We like running our auger up as high as we can get it un those type of condtions. Also, have hump kit in.Our auger is usually running high enough that we can slip whole ears of corn under the flightings without touching. I think that this also reduces cracking. Grain on grain, not grain on steel.Brian
