Combines trash sitting on top of corn head

The same thing happened 3 or 4 years ago on my 630 with steel dividers. I think it had to do with weather conditions more than the design of the head and it definitely didnt reduce capacity nor did it cause me to drive slower. Mother Nature took care of the problem but I cant remember if we got rain or what happened. Driving with the wind was worse as I recall. Good luck!

We must of had the problem more than most. We have extended the flighting to a common center line around tube. It doesn't take much. The left and right flighting would just shuve material to area with no flighting and it would build up. I think crop kept going in but you couldn't see what was happening. You might want to see if it has the floor between feeder and auger. That floor helped prevent any dead area where crop wouldn't flow so well. Good luck

I welded a 4 inch long by one inch piece of angle iron to the cross auger in between where the two flightings come together. Actually did two of them on opposite sides of tube. I then drilled holes and mounts a rubber flap that I had taken off of the spreader. Turn the flap so it bends backwards as to not through ears and it works like a paddle taking in the fluff and not pitching ears out of the corn head.

Actually all it contains is four 1" pieces of flat steel that you let stick up about a 1_2" above the flighting. They are spaced about 30" apart and are just aggressive enough to pull that fluffy trash in. If the trash gets tough and wants to wrap, it takes about two minutes to remove. Really works well.
