late models all reliable, the turret will have about 75% life of roll out on verticle unit

What has been done to the gearbox to improve bearing lifeIJ

actually, nothing, per engineering, after the earliest productions where the bolt size was increased on the top. It is a function of % dirt, grit etc to grain. We have not failed a single one. Where as in places with northern beans etc there have been failures. There have been a few posts here concerning seals, bearing shields. I am sure some will reply.

Any possibility that Agco might use the new style unloader on the A85 on R65s or 75sIJ

I wish they could but it looks like the bin floor is to low for that to work.

I am not sure why they couldnt actually. All they would have to do is put a universal joint which they already have to tilt the auger going in the bin a lil different angle. Position the unloader auger a little higher on the machine and pitch the auger going into the bin with a universal joint between the two. It would take some engineering but I think it would work. As long as the joint was built heavy enough, easy to grease, and easy to remove upon failure.

Although I've seen a lot of posts on here re problems with the turret, I have over 1900 separator hours on mine and other than breaking one of the big bolts (which was a 10 minute fix) 4 years ago, we have had no other problems with it. I suspect a lot of it has to do with the fact that we don't unload 'on the go'. The engine is also close to idle when the unloaded is engaged.

I had a lot a problems with the turet. Flighting dose not last. Cut old flighting off and put 1_4 inch all the way up to top, it only had 1_4 inch on the first and last foot of auger. Had the large bolts break only once but the bearings were out so that may be why it broke. Bearings can not take any side preasurer so make sure the niddle bearing on the end of auger are in good shape or replace every 200 hours. Make sure you have 1_4 inch of clearance between top auger and gear box. I have also cut a plastic cover between gear box and auger to protect bearing seals, seals are made out of a soft rubber that any grain will grind right threw. I have put in 3 gear boxes in four years. Two of them were this last fall. If you do not need the room for unloading on the go in uneven fields I would not get the turet. This is only one combine others had good luck.
