Combines turning up 1440

If memory serves me you take the 4 bolts out of the top cover on the pump. Take a 7_16 wrench and loosen the locknut on the arm and turn the bolt to allow the arm to move further before it hits the stop. Can't rememember which way you turn the bolt, I think it is clockwise, you will just have to look when you get the cover off. A little bit does alot. I think I turned mine one full turn and made a huge difference in horsepower. I gained 1 mph in the field and the engine actually ran cooler after I did it. Good luck.

It will give you more horsepower at the same R.P.M.'s. My 1440 if I remember high idle with no load, was around 2750. which I felt was enough. As I said I gained over 1 m.p.h. in the field running a 17.5 platform and a 6-row narrow head. If I used my head and didn't lug the engine down below 2600 the machine ran alot cooler than before I turned it up. Good luck!
