The company calls them shoes. They are 3_8 inch thick and bolt on to what is left of the old flighting. One does not want to let the old flighting get wore down to far. Each section of the poly flighting covers one revoltion of flight. The vertical auger takes seven sections and cost about $325 with shipping. The company says it last 5 times as long. I am sure if the metal flight was 3_8 thick it would last just as long but the combine would be to heavy with all thick flight. I sure will be willing to try it on other other augers.

Has anybody used the poly shoes on the bin bottom unload auger to move material out of the bin onto an external belt elevator mounted in place of the usual unloader augerIJ It seems the logical way to go in dealing with very bad harvesting conditions.

Should have added this! In Oz we sometimes use the large diameter, thick walled PVC pipe as a casing for augers that are used to transfer fertilizers. Metal tubes usually coat up and cause problems. An unload auger with poly flight and a PVC tube or the standard tube with a PVC tube as a liner might work in bad conditions.
