It's unbeliveable how lite the tin in the turret tube is. Don't know if it could hold up with another 2 or 3' on it. We just replaced the bevel gears on the bottom of the turret, over $850 for the pair. Also had to replace the upright auger $585 plus bearings. The upright with only 1200 seperator hours was totally worn out. Razor sharp with chunks missing where tank auger feeds into it. The turret does reach over grain carts much better than the old style because it is higher on the inside even though it is the same on the end. A friend just put over $3000 into repairs on his turret, parts only when the upper gear box bearing went out, breaking the gear box and bending both augers. Makes one appreciate the simplicity of the old style auger.
