Combines Turret style unloader

Thanks for you reply to my earlier post. Sounds like the extension might be to heavy. I have checked with my dealer and found that no kits are offered by Agco to retrofit a turret style unloader to any of the other swival style unloaders. looks like there might be some demand for someone to try to produce one.

I am ordering an r62 with the 3 foot extension and will be running a 12 row cornhead with 30inch rows. will it reach far enough past the end row for ample clearance between graincart and headIJ Also, why do you think that the extension is too heavyIJ Is it breaking somethingIJ

The 3 foot extension will give enough distance with a 30 foot head. The problem we have on our l2 is the elbow assy. is starting to buckle. When we ordered our extension, it came with a new tube to replace the old and the weight empty is over twice of the old tube. Hopefully the R62 has a heavier elbow assy. We ran a cable from the back corner of the bin to the auger to help hold some of the weight, and it did help. Aslo have problems with hyd. cylinder. Hope you have better luck.

Do you have a short tubeIJ As I recall, longer tubes were an option and that route may be something to look into. Also, do you have a bump bar on the bottom of the tubeIJ Tom in MN

I'll bite; what's the deal with the IH turret on a Gleaner in those picsIJ looks like a lot more trouble than what it would be worth to convert it.

Have factory long tube. Have even tried 3 ft. extention on end. Too much weight for elbow assembly. Chains broke, cylinder exploded, elbow buckled, grain bin sheet metal warped, auger on ground in two pieces. Buried extention right there in field.

I know some of you guys who aren't honest with yourselves won't like this comment but things like what happened to corey when trying to extend the unloading auger are typical when running a machine which is of second class quality of materials and workmanship. (New Holland is the absolute worst---I know, we have been through two of them. They are painted YEllOW for a good reason). After the TR's we purchased a 7720 Titan II which we added a 4 foot unloading auger extension to after buying a 30 foot flex head for it and ran it that way for several years without a single unloading auger problem before we out grew it. Then there's the thing about resale value! A neighbor last year took a $20,000 hit when he decided to finally bite the bullet and trade his R 50 Gleaner for a 9600 and is happy he made the switch.

Corey, my R50 has a similar unloader but a different swing cylinder.

Thank you for your insite into straightening out us self dishonest poor souls. I knew I must have had a hermartia (sic); I just never knew what it was!. I will pass on your comments to those workers and engineers out at Hesston. I'm sure they will sigh, wipe their hands and go home. look for the production to stop, and all non-Deere plants to close. (well Deere's plants have closed too per last news release but that is just to retool to double the production after heeding your advice I feel.) If everyone ran Deeres, then Deere would cut their prices in half, forget about the stock holders and invest all the profits in research and developement to keep you profitable. After all, the customer is all Deere cares about anyway. I am sure the "biting of the bulet" your neighor took was the best medicine he could have taken. I wonder what the terminology is for a couple of local Deere owners who have been offered just under a hundred grand in off lIST on a STS, for their one season old 9510's...accustition therapyIJ Again thanks for your comments. The longer your posts are the more insite we have into your abilities as being an expert in the field. :-,)
