Thanks Hunter, I got it apart, the hard part was pulling the bevel gear off the bottom of the vertical auger. I've never seen anything so hard to remove. I've seen some discussion on here about timing of the augers, could you tell me how it is supposed to be timed .
Timing should be with the virtical auger 1_4 turn ahead of the flat auger or less. Make sure they do not hit each other. You may want to replace the small bearing on the end of the main auger. The one that has a rubber grease hose going to it. If this bearing goes out it will let the auger get into the gear box and grind it up. Took seveal gear boxes to find the problem.
