My Massey MF750 parts books doesnt show the threaded inserts on the main shaft for the reel bat arms. The three Massey dealers I contacted couldnt find the insert on their parts CDs. When I contacted PEM, they quoted me $8_insert minimum order 1,000 pieces and 14 weeks delivery. Then I contacted Universal Harvester Co., the manufacturer of the U-II reels. Penney gave me the Massey part number 1 052 689M1 My local Massey dealer looked it up. Its called a bearing insert and comes in boxes of 25 at 75 cents CDN each, with stock available at our local Agco parts depot in Waterloo Ontario Canada, with next day delivery. It would appear that rust on the reel drive pulleys kept them from slipping, as the combine is stored outside. So I guess Ill have to polish up the pulleys before setting out to harvest. My panic has subsided.

Good luck with your repair. I haven't had that happen to me YET. I have bent the reel bats on a large stone a couple of times. How is your spring tension set on the Idler armIJ Hook the chain just enough to keep the slack out of belt. I also Run my augger clutch on the light side. I usually have to get out and unplug the augger a couple times (or more) a day, but it has saved many augger fingers, and the augger. Good luck Joe
