Combines unload auger

I am the one that has put spacers in the elbow to make it stiff. Every since I have done that I have not broke a 7_8 bolt yet.If you are not having trouble breaking the bolts holding the gear box you probably want to stay loose. I don't know if it is because we unload 90% on the go or what is the problem but it has worked for me. As for the bearings,I have tried taking inside seals out and putting grease in gearbox but it does not seem to make them last any longer

Don't believe there is a top or bottom to the box.The last time I put the bearings in I left the seals in all and just filled the gear box with grease with the grease zerk I installed. It seems to be a poor factory design but hitting the large auger wagons with the swivel type on pivot tracks and washouts was not to cheap every year either. Maybe someone else has a better idea. Sure would like to here it.

Thanks for the info, I will not mess with the seals. The last time I put it together I had the gear box tite, so I think I will go with it loose.
