You probably have some wires that are rubbing some steel and when you turn on your unloading auger the extra vibration causes the wire or wires to short out.

I have never seen anything on timing the flighting on the swivel systems. They do talk about timeing on the turret system. I can not make sense of directions for timing the augers in the turret system. They say 90 degrees but nothing about leeding or lagging. We chose to install final auger with flighting following vertical auger by approx 1_4 turn. We've been doing the same with swivel systems after years of not paying any attention to timing at all. While your at the job I would consider extending the flighting on hopper auger to withing a 1_4" or so of bushing support. You could taper the square corners of bushing support also to make it easier for grain to flow. We learned most of these tricks from edible bean crop where there is some dirt and soft beans that will plug up that ujoint area so every bit of fine tuning helps. Good luck

Talked to long time Gleaner expert today (Ray Rham) and he used to just slam auger in without timing also. Then he got involved with tring to unload some wet milo and soon found out that timing auger makes a big difference. He said they time all augers now and have noticeable less belt problems. He has the leading edge of swing auger flighting trail the tail end of hopper flighting by as close as possible to 1_4 turn. Talked to Jerry on Gleaner help line this winter when we were rebuilding our first turret system and he also said that proper timed flighting helps plenty in them wet conditions. We are tring another little trick in a couple R50s that do alot of edible beans and a machine the does alot of grass harvesting and that is double the suction flighting on swinging auger. That is we buy the 1_4" replacement flighting and weld it right inbetween the currant flighting so we have two leeding edge of flighting pulling material away from hopper auger. Time will tell if we will ever plug up now but so far so good. Catch ya later.
