Check to see if the auger is dragging too hard on the rest when it is not extended. The ram doesn't have much mechanical advantage at that position. If it is dragging, adjust the brace to raise it up a little. We always have the auger empty before we put it back in.

on my 1620 i could not get the unloading auger to move out and if i did it might not come back and if it did it was really slow. we messed around with the stack valves. we took our battery charger and put current to the stack valve and it worked like it should have. we ended up replacing our alternator and it worked fine after that. must not have been putting enough voltage to the stack valves. fwiw good luck! On our 1680 we often have to grease all 4 of the grease fittings while moving the auger in and out to completely coat the elbow. We have also had to remove the elbow because the rivets that hold the ring on top of the vertical pipe had worn off and let it bind up. We replaced them with bolts rather than replace the pipe.

Check for debris in the limit switch that controls the "auger out" position. It is located in the grain tank directly under the unloading auger.

When I bought my machine, I had swing problems all season. Finally, a mechanic found the hydraulic cyclinder had a very slight bend to it.
