Combines Unloading augar belt

Make sure the the 1_2" bolt in the back of the guide is just a little loose. If it is then you may want to make sure that the belt guides are all in the same place that they were. Then you may need the leave "tention" on it over night so the belt streches a little. You are not the first one!!

I had the same thing last year. My dealer gave up and said they didn't know what to do. (I got a bill anyway) I finally took the chain off, left the auger engaged and let it heat up and stretch for the rest of the afternoon. I never had another problem.Ialso sprayed it with wd40 real good too. These belts have loops and flat spots from being folded and in storage for long periods of time. hope this helps

The bolr that I'm refering to is the one on the guard in the back. It is possible for it to put some "load" on the idler pulley and get the belt to grab. Shut off the engine and put tention on the idler with a rachet puller so the belt streches a little.

The bolt should have a lock nut holding it and it needs to be slightly loose so the arm can pivot a little when the auger is engaged and disengaged. On my new combine the bolt was tight from the factory and the arm where the bolt on one end and the pulley on the other end broke when the combine had about 250 hours on it. I don't know if this will help, but the bolt needs to be a little loose.

Thanks SUPER-H, I moved the belt guide around the front pulley back to the original spot and left the 1_2 inch bolt tight and it worked fine. I guess the shield works as a brake on the on the pulley. CIH has some pretty prehistoric engineering. All we use to run was IH, but since switching to JD-Cat,we have had alot less trouble. Just need to get rid of the 2188 POS. Randy
