Combines unloading auger on 750

Sounds like the bearings in the bottom drive were bad. The unload will turn very freely even when the bottom, bearing is quite worn( i have to change mine about every 3rd year). You can unload your grain tank through the cleanout doors. You will need to do this at least on the unloader side, in order to work on the drive. Just slide an augger under the access door and let the beans drain out. then get underneath, and see what is all broken.

it sounds to me you have broken the shaft at the top of the vertical auger as i had the same thing happen to an 860 good luck

What year 750 is itIJ Does it have the high capacity unloadIJ

I don't know, all I do know is it is a silver cab model. Is there any way of finding out by the serial number or any other number on the machineIJ If I remember correctly, the bottom bearing on the vertical auger was slack. I think it allowed the auger to slip downward when the system started to load-up. Is there a bearing in top of the vertical auger that could help hold the auger upIJ Thanks

I did't have a chance to work on it today, but this sounds like a good possibility (and just my luck). Is there an easy way to make the repairs or a major under-taking. I'm about ready to take my brother's advice and put the little Gleaner in the field. Thanks for the help.

More than likely, you have the high capacity, same as the 860. The only thing that holds the augger up, is the bottom bearing. It is not too bad a job to replace. It is just a plain ol sealed bearing. Hopefully you didn't break the bottom casting that holds everything together.

the easist way to fix the auger is to remove the top section at the elbow and if it has broke the hexeon shaft in the auger or geabox remove the broken piece. replace the remainder of hex in place and drill a hole throngh the shaft and hex.then secure in place with a rollpin or high tensile bolt
