Combines Unloading Auger Problem

Considering the weight of the auger, I like to force the auger to "lift" itself up a fraction of an inch to climb on the saddle. This will reduce stress on the elbow when traveling. The hydraulic cylinder has very little mechanical advantage when the auger is swung back. Therefore, it helps a bunch to grease the elbow zerks as it swings through its complete arc. This works best with two guys but one guy can do it; its needs to be swinging slow to give you time to climb up and start greasing. Every time my auger has not been able to climb on the saddle, a good grease job has done wonders.

Thanks ..... your suggestion seems to have worked. I had the two outside grease serks plugged. After finally getting some grease forced through as the auger was being swung back and forth it now moves more freely. Thanks again.

we have the same prob plowboy we now grease once when auger is in and then again when auger is out we nearly had a guy fall by doing it while the auger was swinging not easy to climb over

Is there a detent screw on the valve that runs the hydraulic cylinder swinging the augerIJ If so you should be able to slow down the hydraulic flow. Good luck

remove the chain and operate cylinder. As it extends the last 1_2" you should hear a squish as the cyliner piston hits the orficed area and it will slow down. IF so you chain is out of adjustment. If not you have to repack your cyl again as you have missed an oring 71365013 or 71365016 is missing or bent.
