Combines unloading auger won t stay out

This could be a long shot but when I was running 1688s I had something similar. The gentlemen with ProHarvest told me my reel height switch was bad. To check and make sure they told me to set the reel about where I was normally runing it and unhook the hose so it would stay at that height. Than unplug the wire going to the reel height switch and cut wheat to see if the unloading auger would work right. It did, so I went to town and bought a new reel height switch. Problem solved. It seems rediculious but I guess the unloading auger wireing runs through the reel switch. Good luck!!

If I remember corretly it was not the thumb switch on the hydro lever, that switch controles the header raise and lower, it was the reel raise and lower switch that is on the console on a 1660. Again if I remember correctly, it cost about $30.00. What I would do before buying the switch, unplug the wires from the reel switch and see if your unloading auger works right.

I have the same problem on my 1666. I'll have to look into this. I'm thinking it maybe something more serious because my field tracker starts reacting goofy when I turn the lights on at night.
