Combines unthreshed bean pods in rice 2188

Do you have spiked bars installed on the front of the rotor as well as the rearIJ If so, it's likely that the spikes are tall enough that they're preventing you from closing your concaves tightly enough for thresh.

We have a 1480 rice. Have always had the same problem you refer to. Put in cover plates on first three concave sections and it has totally eliminated the problem. Every other wire pulled in all concaves. No spikes, disrupters installed. The problem I have now is threshed pods coming in but I need to get a Hillco kit installed and maybe that will fix that. Have you had the concaves out of the machineIJ It may be possible there is some bent bars or some type of rock damage in the concave. We have seen that happen with a used machine that had problems cleaning up soybeans. Good luck The other "tj"

Steamboat, If I read your post correctly I'm not surprised you're having trouble. In no crop that I know of would you set the top sieve (chaffer) tighter than the bottom sieve (shoe). Set the top sieve at 5_8, the botom sieve at 3_8, the concave clearence on about 2, and the rotor speed 650, the air at 1050 to 1070 and you should have a perfect sample. K.A.
