The sensor has a particular ohm reading, it needs to be checked out per service manual. The infield check to see if it is bad is to switch with the height potentiometer either at the pivot or the other side. If the code changes, it is a bad potentiometer, if not it is a bad harness.

I don't know if you did this or not, but there is a calibration step that you have to do on a new system. There are hidden buttons on the monitor, they are under the "c" and the "l" on the control monitor. You have to do this with the monitor off. I can't remember which way it goes, but it goes something like this. With the header all the way down push the C button in until the light flashes. Then raise it up until the cutter bar is completly off the ground and hold the l button until the light flashes. If this is backwards the header will only raise as soon as you try to lower it with the monitor on. Then do the procedure the opposite way. Hope this helps

We've never had any trouble with this system but don't have lateral tilt on any machines either. Did combine part of system ever work rightIJ I know there was some software problems with the first systems back around '98 or '99. You may need to find dealer that has laptop with lTM software installed. Have them check software version and install newer if needed. Have them check electrical or operators area bullitons on header control systems to get up to date on what could need to be done. Best of luck

thanks guys for the input, well we're done with the beans so I had time to play around with the head in the open field, before I put it away till next fall. Anyway, after analizing the pentiometers and testing them on sharp hill turning to the right , the right one is working. Changed directions and went to the left and the left worked.Everything is OK.Now I know why they have lateral tilt machines.
