There were changes about every year but nothing really sticks out in my mind that would be a major problem with a '92 model. They beafed up feed chains and shafts among other things as they kept increasing the HP. If you would do a few of the upgrades like feed shocks, extend 3rd helical, and extend cylinder bars you will dramatically reduce the load on things. You could take a look down inbetween bottom set of cylinder varible sheaves to see all three washers are able to float on shaft. If machine did not have retaining nut torqued well enough the assemble could be moving around on shaft and main hanger bearing can then turn on shaft. I have not yet to pull a mainshaft on one of these machines because we got nuts torqued at predelivery and postdelivery. Be sure washer behind large nut is not bottomed against the shaft for then it will not hold everything in compresion. They did change that varible on later machine in that they used a large cuped washer behind the large nut to prevent it from bottoming out. Nothing wrong with original varible but nut need to be tight just like it needs to be tight on newer varibles also. Give it a good look over and let use know of anything that looks a little funny to you. Happy shoping.
