Combines Urgent Help 1680 loses power

We've had the tube between the tank and the filter get semi-plugged and loose a lot of power. When the engine runs out of fuel, the rpms drop like a rock. We broke the line, blew compressed air back into the tank, and everything went back to normal.

rpm needs to be running 2750 also for max. hp. check your flow out of tank and check fuel for black virus.

I checked that line and it was plugged. I left the line off, and wrapped the filler neck tube and plastic tube in clean cloth to act as a filter. Still no improvement. Where does that tube go to from the filler neck. Maybe I missed something. I would love to not have to buy the electric pump, unless it would help.

My wide open speed is 2690. It ran great Saturday covering 75 acres of 55bu beans. Today no power

No, I'm talking about the main fuel line that goes from the bottom of the tank to the filter base. I think you break the connection at the shutoff valve. Fuel will be running out on your hand as you do this, but blow compressed air up into the tank to clean this line out, and see if the fuel then runs out faster. We probably got some chaff or straw in the tank at some point, which partially plugged the line but never made it to the filter.

I am loading the gen. and compressor in the truck in the morn. I looked today and I think I have a shutoff right at the tank too. Taking a shopvac along to cleanup alot of bean dirt before breaking into things. Thanks

On ours, we had to blow that line out twice in one season, maybe 3 or 4 years ago, and have not had a problem since. When the fuel was restricted, you could tell easily by just putting the machine in road gear and pushing the hydro lever all the way forward. Someone standing at a distance could hear the engine miss and sputter as it lugged down. Sounded pretty bad. Good luck, Mike

there is a screen filter inside bottom of tank if you can blow air back into tank and it helps take shut off and clean the screen. good luck bill

Check up also fuel shutt-off valve at first filter (first check is it fully open and if is then take it apart and check for dirt inside).
