WASHINGTON, March 26, 2020 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is working to be as flexible as possible to get food out to the people who need it during the COVID-19 National Emergency. On Wednesday, March 18, President Donald J. Trump signed into law the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes billions of dollars in nutrition assistance for children and families. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue is taking swift action to implement these new provisions and ensure children and families are fed.

I am so thankful to hear that! I've been sharing some of the vegetables and fruits that I canned last harvest and I've been worrying about running out before I can get another garden going. This is such good news. Kids shouldn't have to go hungry!
