whats daceiving is that of the 2 million extra corn acres, 900,000 are in north dakota @ 113 bpa state average. what if this would have been in a corn state with a 138 to 147 ave. tooo many eth. plants in the making and online now. but if corn drops another .20 monday look for more corn acres to shift to beans. even after yesterday there was talk already of going to beans.

My thoughts exactly. The report talks about trendy yields, there is nothing trendy about this year.

Even if we grow the extra 12 million acres with the 154 bu_acre average it would still only leave a carry over of about 755 million bu. That isn't really that much. Most of the time they want 1 billion carryover to get through the following year in case of weather problems. So prices should still stay strong. Just my 2 cents Kurt

I'm not American, but arn't those extra acres being seeded to corn are in areas like North Dakota and South Dakota, Montana were the averages will be well below 154bu._acreIJ

lots of those acres are displacing beans in Iowa, Illinois, etc. where the yields are good.

Bigsky, You are right about what you said.louisiana up 129% Georgia 79,Mississippi 7X, Alabama and Arkansa also up big. But the big corn states are only up like 12%. Illinois,Iowa and,Indiana,are like 11,12,and 13. Those numbers will pull the national avg. way down. I have talked to alot of seedcorn dealers from central Ill. and they all tell me there customers are up on avg. 10%. IG

you have to remember that these acres are not the best of acerages or else they would have been planted along time ago, the bushels will not even come close to the state averages with good weather.
