We have a JD 216 Flex head with AHC. We had it on a 6600 that did not have header height controls. At the time we were using the floating spring package under the feeder house with the visual height indicator. Crude by today's standards but mechanically functional. Two years ago we bought a 7720 Titan II with DAM controls at a farm auction. Our trusty mechanic at the local JD dealership gave me an adapter that allows us to utilize the header's AHC on the combine's DAM controls. I have not disassembled the connectors on this adapter to verify the wiring configuration but it adapts the AHC rectangular three blade connector to the DAM multi-pin round connector. As configured it allows the header's AHC to function as designed (at a single height) anytime the combine's DAM control knob is in all of the three "ON" positions (1,2, or 3). It does not function in the "OFF" or 0 position. Hope this is what you needed to know.
