Combines Value of a 1440

we paid 40 canadian last year for a 1984. this one had 2300 hrs with 4x4. looked at some for 20-25 range but not very good.

In the midwest the 1440's at auctions bring anywhere from $5000 on up. Dealers are asking mid teens for good machines. The 1440 with a few updates is as modern as a new combine in the threshing area. For the money it is the most combine you can buy.

Used to own a 1440 1979 model, The 1981 or newer would be a better machine because of the electric hydraulic system. We now run a 1640. Do wish that it had the heavier axle of the 1460 or 1660. With the factory axle you cannot put a hopper top on without causing stress to the axle.I would guess the value to be in the $5,000 range. Bought our 1440 back in 1996 for $11,000 with about 3500 hours.

just bought a 83 1440 with 3300hrs at a farm auction. 16.5'820 header came with it.It was always shedded and in real good shape, for $5000.00
