Combines value of N6

Other things to check would be age of tires, year of machine, cage and bar condition, hydro leaks, feed chains and sprockets and what they actually did to the motor. In my area these machines sell from $2-10,000. I have never been impressed with an N-6 in green stem beans as it takes too much power to wrap those things through the cylinder. In other crops this is a good combine if it is maintained.

The Tips and Hyper Mods pages of this board have some great ideas on how a person can upgrade an N6 to increase capacity without spending a great deal of money. Many of us have followed those recommendations. There is no reason why a new N6 owner couldnt have the same positive results we had.

My experience: anything with stem moisture is a problem with a N-6 because it is a bit underpowered. Otherwise it is a good machine with good grain quality. Even on a site like this it is okay in my opinion to state the limitations of a machine. I think the original poster of this thread will be disappointed in the difference in capacity between his F2 and a N6 in green soybeans even with modifications. He will be surprised in the increase in capacity in about everything else. Rig
