Try this first, the mounting plate for the pump assembly can be moved forward toward cab or rearward toward back of machine. This is how to adjust the lever in the cab to have it operate properly. This procedure works better with an assistant in the cab to opearate the control, loosen the two bolts that holds the entire assembly on the machine, you will notice that the assembly can be moved backwards, forwards, and tilted, adjust until belt is tight enough to prevent slippage, and the operator in the cab should be able to speed up and slow down the variable control, some machines are harder to set than others. The variable speed is harder to set than the header hight control.
