Did you try putting on high speed sprockets to speed up stalk rollsIJ It needs to run fast to work especially in dry corn stalks.

New blades and running the head at high speeds is the key. I seen a Hugger with new blades this fall that was leaving a nice even field. Owner commented what a change the blades made. Kelly

I suppose I had what was standard roll speed sprockets, but I would run it as fast as could relative to how much shelling do you want in head, and how FAR do you want ears flying out of the headIJ I am in the process of buying a new head right now, so it is very important to me not to make a mistake on this. If I could be guaranteed I would never need to chop stalks, I would get the Gleaner in a heartbeat, as I really don't want to put an extra $26000 to $30000 into the Geringhoff head if not warranted! My experience with the Hugger in our conditions (22" rows with 36000 plants per acre) has not been that it would do that, even if putting new roll blades on every year.
