Well,if all else fails you can go to the source of Bish adapters, Harv's Farm Supply. I am sure they can fix you up with what you want.

Thanks John but lil to pricey for me new I have a set of 6 hesston heads on an older massey plat that we used to run on our 750. Havn't used it for years but in anticipation of someday having down milo again I would sure like to have a bish around ready to use if I needed that head. I've been looking for 2 years. Found one last year but they wouldn't seperate it from the head. Thought that was odd. At any rate, figure if I can get a used one I can get it at a decent price. One decent enough that it can set in the shed and collect dust for the next "x" amount of years till the deere gets updated. by then the head will probably be useless too for something else more affordable will be out that works better too. That Hesston head setup is a high maintenance million belt contraption.

may I ask why you want to use an older (91series platform_11 series corn head) on a 9600 deere combineIJ Just wondering, I am not sure I have ever seen anyone doing this.. gs

I have a set of 6 hesston heads on an old massey plat. The bish is for future anticipation of down milo so I have recourse without having to actually go out and buy a regular row head. The hesston heads work fairly well but down milo isn't a year to year thing and I can't justify owning something else to sit in a shed for years on end collecting dust. Dad was a massey man. He had that head for his 750. I'd like to find a used bish so the price is accomidating to setting on that head collecting just as much dust until possible future use. Clear as mudIJ *grin*.....Anyways, plan I have. That's why I'm in no big hurry and taking my time hunting.

Hello there I am not sure whether this would interest you or not but I would sell you a 853 row crop head for $5000 then you could use it every year and on the downed years it would be available. It is in very good mechanical shape and doesnt have a whole lot of use since last gone thru. Just some food for thought..

I sold an excellent 653A not bent, all spring tighteners tight bearings throughout with a pickup load of parts from another two heads I junked out for 3grand. This is all you should have to pay for a runner. Parts machines that are straight are worth about 500. Good luck with your bish adaptor if you go that way, it would be a cheaper way to go. GS

I am not postive if I understand-- I think you mean you want to put massey head that fits 700- 800 series massey combines onto a 9600 deere- if thats the plan I am not sure you need a head adapter-- I put a 1183 massey corn head on a 8780xp with lateral tilt without a head adapter, I realize they may not be identical machines but I would think it should work, the only thing I have found is that the 8780xp runs the head somewhat faster than the 860 thus causing some shelling that is more than I would like to see especially if the corn is 18% or less.

Thanks but no thanks. My 30' with milo guards can take in 12 rows at a time. I don't see how an 8 row would be progress. Not to mention where rows cross over each other it would just knock down the extra. Plus, 5 grand is alot to set aside into this little project no more that it would be expected to be used. I plant in rows but I used as little as possible row equipement when it comes to harvest. Just wheat and milo operation for the combines although I did harvest some alfalfa seed a couple years ago.

Deere and massey's feeder house where they hook to the plat do not interchange. Not to mention, I have my drives at the bottom of the feederhouse and massey used that square block at the top to drive the plat. It will require an adapter.
