yes you are right, I understand that part, i dont know of any adapters but I think there must be some around, my 8780 throat hookups were completly different also, 8780 drives on the bottom of throat also--- I cut shafts about 12 inches in from the sprockets and put a holder there with a bearing and then put a PTO drive shaft from the drive on bottom of machine throat to the end of the header drive shaft that I cut, the 1183 head where the 860 hooked to at the top of the throat had what looked like a hook where it lifted head from-- I took those off and cut into that beam as much as I needed to and made a shoulder on there that would match the style that is on the 8780, all the hook ups on 8780 are completly different from 860 also, I just decided I would try to make it work and a blacksmith friend helped me on it, he had some good ideas and we made it work and I have seen just about every color combine with 1100 series massey corn heads on them, however you need to do what works for your situation. Good luck to you.

I have to hand it to you. Your friend and you are pretty talented. If I had to do it with as little time to spare as I have these days I would be a botched job at worst and scrap iron at best. Not to mention, the supreme commander still owns the head. If I headed towards it with a torch he would probably be headed towards the rifle closet. Thanks for the idea but I think that is more of a bite than I can chew. Have a good one.

Just a side note for you here.. the guy who bought my old row head took it home to south Ks near conway springs. He got it specifically for use in milo. Put it on a 9510. He said later he was very happy with it. Must be a reason. gs
